The Environment and CMC Steel Alabama

The Environmental Department considers the conservation of our precious natural resources -- air, water, soil, plant and animal life -- as basic to us as profits and the health and well being of its employees.  Whether in actual pollution control or in other plant operations, each employee shares in our environmental responsibility.

We continue to seek better ways to make steel without any adverse impact on our environment.  Control equipment is maintained and upgraded.  Protective equipment is made available as required.  In addition to providing guidance to meet the challenges of each environmental aspect of the operations, our environmental staff monitors all plant conditions and continually assesses the impact on our employees, our neighbors, and our community.
